    Jade Museum

    Enter a treasure trove of jade artefacts and ornaments. In some cultures, jade is hailed as ‘the stone of heaven’ and is purported to have mystical and healing powers. The Jade Museum displays a collection of antiques as well as accessories such as exquisite brooches, rings, earrings, necklaces and many more. Visitors can also view pieces of raw jade that were taken as sample from jade boulders. Gifts and souvenirs are available for purchase. Entrance: Free. Opening hours: 9.00am  to 5.00pm daily.     Maybank Numismatic Museum

    This museum houses an impressive collection of coins and notes from the early days of Malaya until the present time. It also serves as a centre of research into Malaysia’s numismatic history. Entrance: Free. Opening hours: 10.00am  to 4.30pm (Mondays to Fridays). Closed on weekends and public holidays. Tel: 03-2074 7418 Getting there: Take the STAR LRT to the Plaza Rakyat Station. The museum is a 5-minute walk away.
